Rancho Cordova city leaders say they are in early talks with California Northstate University to bring a new teaching hospital to the city.
兰柯多瓦市领导人表示，他们正在与加州北州立大学进行初步谈判，希望在该市引进一所新的教学医院。
Leaders in Rancho Cordova say the hospital would replace a proposed Northstate location in Elk Grove.

Last month, the Elk Grove planning commission voted to recommend the denial of a similar project.

"This is an important project for the Sacramento region and we wish California Northstate University much success in establishing their teaching hospital in the area," said Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen in a statement.

Rancho Cordova officials say the hospital would bring jobs and new business activity to the area.

"A teaching hospital will provide vital healthcare services to our community while creating good jobs, attracting top medical professionals to the area, spurring new business activity and making Rancho Cordova an even more attractive destination. The hospital will also positively impact stays at city hotels," said Marc Sapoznik, director of Rancho Cordova Travel & Tourism.

"The opportunities that could be provided to the City of Rancho Cordova, its residents, and the businesses around the proposed CNU Medical Center are very exciting," said Diann Rogers, President and CEO of the Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce.

However, the discussions surrounding the hospital are still preliminary and there's no word on where the hospital would be located.
