萨克拉门托一名因COVID-19住院65天的男子谈到了该病毒的长期影响
We still don’t really know the long-term effects COVID-19 has on the body, especially for those who were hospitalized for weeks or even months.
我们仍然不知道COVID-19对身体的长期影响，特别是对那些住院数周甚至数月的人。
“I would say other than my voice, I am back to 100% normal,” said east Sacramento resident Paul Cantelli. “It’s been a long recovery. That's for sure.”

Cantelli was taken to the doctor on March 25, 2020, after noticing a drastic drop in his blood oxygen level. He said he didn't even know he had COVID-19.

“After I went into the hospital, I was out of it on a lot of medication, I wasn’t even awake until sometime in May,” he said.

After 64 days in the hospital, 40 of them on a ventilator, Cantelli began the second leg of his journey — rehab.
在医院住了64天后，其中40天需要使用呼吸机，坎特利开始了他旅程的第二阶段——康复。
“I couldn't walk before, I couldn't open a bottle of water,” Cantelli said. ”I wasn’t going to give up and do whatever it took to get to this stage.”

Even after beating COVID-19, Cantelli still faced months of recovery.
即使战胜了COVID-19，坎特利仍然面临数月的恢复。
“I get winded quicker than I used to. They are saying there is no damage to my lungs surprisingly, at this moment,” he said.

Cantelli says that after everything, he remains thankful.
坎特利说，在经历了这一切之后，他仍然心存感激。
“Everything considered, I am very blessed of where I am at right now," he said. "The doctors and nurses did an unbelievable job and what they had to do to take care of me all that time, I don’t know how else to shed any light on that. It’s because of them and prayers I am here right now.”
他说:“从各方面考虑，我很庆幸自己现在的处境。“医生和护士们做的工作令人难以置信，他们一直都在照顾我，我不知道还有什么其他的办法来说明这一点。因为他们和他们的祈祷，我现在才在这里。”
Eight months into his recovery, Paul is looking forward to one thing.

“I want to get on a plane and see my family. My mom, my sisters, my kids, my grandkids. I would say that's number one on my list,” he said.
“我想坐飞机去见我的家人。我的妈妈，我的姐妹，我的孩子，我的孙子。我想说这是我的首要任务。”
He said he wants to get the COVID-19 vaccine to protect his family. For now, he’s giving messages of hope to others battling the virus.
他说，他希望接种COVID-19疫苗，以保护他的家人。目前，他给其他与病毒抗争的人带来了希望。
“Don’t give up. Keep praying. Stand with it,” he said.
“不要放弃。继续祈祷。相信我们会战胜它，”他说。
