（KCRA）A dog groomer in Elk Grove has been sentenced for felony animal cruelty after a dog in her care died, the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office says.
萨克拉门托县地方检察官办公室称，EG的一名狗美容师因照料的一只狗死亡而被判虐待动物重罪。
Stephanie Frentz was sentenced to 180 days in jail, two years probation and ordered not to groom animals for 10 years, the district attorney's office said. She pleaded guilty to felony animal cruelty in February.

In May 2020, Frentz was grooming a miniature schnauzer named Rosco when "Frentz allowed Rosco to fall off the grooming table and did not come to his aid for several minutes," according to a news release from the district attorney's office.

The dog died of strangulation, and prosecutors said Frentz was not forthcoming about the cause of the Rosco's death.

"Through the efforts of Elk Grove Animal Control and the District Attorney's Office, it was determined that Frentz's negligence while grooming Rosco caused his death," the district attorney's office said.

KCRA 3 reached out to Frentz for comment and has not heard back.
