A suspect wanted in connection with a double homicide was shot by Modesto officers Tuesday during an investigation in Stockton, Modesto police said.

Police said the suspect’s condition is unknown.

The shooting happened at Sherwood Park in Stockton. Officers were in the area investigating a shooting that happened Friday night on Semple Street in Modesto; two people were killed and one person was seriously injured, police said.

It is unclear what led Modesto officers to the Stockton park and what led up to the shooting.
