(KCRA)A stretch of Highway 50 in the Sacramento area was closed mid-morning Monday after a shooting that sent one person to the hospital, authorities said.

Eastbound lanes were shut down between Howe Avenue and Bradshaw Road. All lanes had reopened by about 12:45 p.m.

According to the California Highway Patrol, there was a shooting between two vehicles shortly before 10:30 a.m. One person was shot and taken to UC Davis Medical Center.

The report of gunshots happened near where Highway 50 goes over Folsom Boulevard, Sacramento police said.

CHP said it believes the shooting was targeted. CHP Officer Eulogio Ceja said authorities are looking for a brown or tan sedan in connection with the shooting.
