SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
A teen was arrested in connection with a Sacramento-area high school shooting during a football game that killed a 24-year-old man, officials said Wednesday.

The Sacramento Police Department said detectives arrested the 15-year-old and booked him into the Sacramento County Youth Detention Facility on a homicide charge. Officers also found the gun believed to have been used.

The shooting happened Oct. 21 just before 10 p.m. at Grant High School. Prior to the shooting, police said there was a "disturbance" in the parking lot involving as many as 20 people. It's not believed that anyone in that group was a student at the high school.

There was also no interruption to the game as no one attending the game seemed to be aware of a shooting.

Days later, police arrested 18-year-old Ronzel Belton, who is accused of attacking the victim Alfred Ayodele Myah with a firearm before the shooting happened. But police said then that Belton was not the primary homicide suspect.

The shooting prompted the Twin Rivers Unified School District, which represents Grant, to make major security changes. These included more officers, metal detector wand screenings upon entry and small bag checks. Larger backpacks are no longer allowed inside the stadium.
